What You've Said

Big thank you to Kelvin for our kayaking lesson last week. Whilst the session was great fun (yes even the indelicate attempts practising getting back on our kayaks in deep water), Kelvin was really knowledgeable regarding safety and gave us a lot of tips and practical guidance to help keep us safe on the water. Looking forward to another session soon.

Brilliant time! really enthusiastic leaders.... definitely recommend

FAQ's

What's a private Trip?

Our Private sessions offer you the opportunity to experience our awesome Activities, surrounded by only you and your Friends and Family!

Our private sessions also offer more flexibility.

(On a side note...private trips are by far our favourite to run!)

Do you do discounts for groups?

We do!

If your booking for larger groups, checkout the 'Groups' page for some more information or Email: info@jurassicwatersports.co.uk for your personalised quote.

What do I need to bring?

You'll need to bring a good pair of shoes with laces to wear, something with good bit of grip ideally! We suggest you also bring a water bottle and waterproofs/warm clothing where appropriate.

You will also need a day bag to carry kit and any snacks, food or bits that you would want for a weekend away

(feel free to bring any of your own kit along also!)

Check out the 'Joining Instructions' for full info!

Do I need to be a good Climber?

You will have a qualified Instructor to teach you everything you need to know and ‘show you the ropes’ as they say! (Pun very much intended!) We do suggest that you have a basic level of physical fitness to make sure you can fully enjoy the session. However, no prior experience of Climbing is required.

This being said, you will get far more out of the weekend if you have a little bit of Climbing under your belt before hand.

What should we do about Accommodation?

You have several options when it comes to where to stay. Dartmoor has a selection of bunkhouses, guesthouses and hotels that suit whatever price range or trip style you are looking for. You also have the option of wild camping or staying in campervans if your up for something more adventurous.

Based on our experience in Dartmoor, we highly recommend the following:

- The Prince of Wales Bunkhouse

- The Prince of Wales B&B

- Fox Tor Café Bunkhouse

- East Dart Hotel

We can also offer assistance with finding Wild Camping and Campervan spots!

What are the timings?

We meet in Princetown for 09:00 on day 1, our team will often be in the area the night before if you wish to meet them before hand. You will then discuss the plan for the weekend, meet the rest of the group and head off to begin your Adventure.

Once you are all Adventured out, team will say their goodbyes and leave at around 16-17:00 on the last day.

How big will the group be?

We like our Adventures to be close knit and intimate events. Groups will be kept small, usually under 8, however we may have groups of up to 10, with two of our team there to look after you!

What if it's raining?

We try our best not to cancel any sessions, but sometimes the great British weather often has other ideas! If a session is cancelled by us we will look at rescheduling you in when convenient for you.

The advantage of our Adventure weekends is the flexibility to move around activities to go Climbing if the weather is good, hiking if its wet and look at Bushcraft skills if seeking shelter.

Is there a minimum age?

This is a very physically demanding Adventurous Activity. For our open sessions we ask all participants are over the age of 14.

We do however suggest that ages 18+ will get the most out of this Adventure!

Alternatively, you can always book a private session for you and your family.
